Emperor Qinzong(欽宗, 1100~1161) was the last emperor of the Northern Song. His name is Zhao Huan(趙桓). He was the son of Emperor Huizong(徽宗) and the older brother of Emperor Gaozong(高宗) of the Southern Song. After the sack of Kaifeng (開封) in 1126, he was captured by the Jin and the Northern Song Dynasty ended. Emperor Renzong(仁宗, 1010~1063) was the fourth emperor of the Song Dynasty. He was the sixth son of the Emperor Zhenzong(眞宗 and ascended the throne at 13 in 1022. Since he was too young to rule, Empress Dowager Liu(劉太后) ruled as regent during his early reign. During his reign, the Song court chose pacifism as national policy, concluding humiliating peace treaties with the Liao(遼) and the Western Xia(西夏). Song Shenxi (宋申錫, ?-833) served Emperor Wenzong(文宗) of Tang as a chancellor. In the reign of Emperor Wenzong, he tried to eliminate the power of the eunuchs from the court. He appointed Wang Anshi(王安石), who promoted and implemented his reforms as Grand Councilor. 송문제 (쑹원디) |
(407–453). An emperor of Liu Song 劉宋 during the Six Dynasties 六朝 period. The third son of Emperor Wu 武帝, the founding Emperor of Liu Song. After Liu Yilong's elder brother Liu Yifu 劉義符 ascended the throne as Emperor Shao 少帝 in 424, a group of officials, believing Emperor Shao to be unfit to be the ruler of the state, deposed the emperor and enthroned Liu Yilong. His 29 years of reign, called the "Yuanjia administration 元嘉之治", is believed to have been a period of prosperity and strength. However, he launched several military campaigns against the Northern Wei 北魏, which led to the state's decline.
