A Ming eunuch. A loyal subordinate of Wei Zhongxian(魏忠賢). He came to Korea in 1625 to announce King Injo 仁祖 as the king of Joseon. He accumulated great wealth while staying in Joseon. Hu Quan(胡銓, 1102~1180) was an official of the Southern Song Dynasty. Coming from Ji Prefecture(吉州), he earned the jinshi(進士) degree in 1128. In the reign of Emperor Gaozong(高宗), he insisted on the execution of Wang Lun(王倫), Qin Hui(秦檜) and Sun Jin(孫近), who advocated peace with the Jin(金 ).
