Ma Duanlin 馬端臨 마단림
(마돤린)
Ma Duanlin(馬端臨, 1245~1322) was a historian and encyclopedist of the Yuan Dynasty. He was a son of Ma Tingluan(馬廷鸞), Grand Councilor of the Southern Song. In 1273 he started the compilation of the Wenxian Tongkao(文獻通考) using his father's collection and advice, and in 1317 he completed the Wenxian Tongkao in 348 volumes. After the death of his father, Ma Duanlin was called to serve the Yuan Dynasty and later played an important role in reviving the Chinese education system. 마단림(馬端臨), 귀여(貴與), 죽주(竹洲)

A Ming military commander of Uighur origin who was dispatched to Joseon as Regional Commander for the Defense against the Japanese (備倭總兵官) in 1597.
