Liu Yikang(劉義康, 409~451) was the fourth son of Emperor Wu(武帝) of the Liu Song(劉宋). Since he enjoyed the great confidence of Emperor Wu and Emperor Wen(文帝), he was appointed to administer state affairs for them. However, as his power grew, Emperor Wen suspected that he plotted rebellion. In 440, he was demoted to the position of Governor of Jiang province(江州刺史). Later, after several plots that crowned Liu Yikang as emperor had been detected, he was finally executed. | |
