Pei Ji(裵寂, 570-629) was a government official of the Sui (隋朝) and Tang Dynasties (唐朝). He was a founding contributor of Tang(唐). He persuaded Li Yuan(李淵), the future Emperor Gaozu(高祖) of Tang, to raise an army against Sui. He was appointed to higher positions in the Tang court. Pei Yaoqing(裵耀卿, 681-743) became a chancellor under the reign of Emperor Xuanzong(玄宗). He and Zhang Jiuling(張九齡) stood against Li Linfu(李林甫). Although Zhang Jiuling was dismissed, Pei kept his position of administrative chancellor until his death. Peng Gui'nian (彭龜年, 1142~1206) was an official and Neo-Confucian scholar of the Song Dynasty. Losing his parents at the age of 7, he studied under Zhu Xi(朱熹) and Zhang Shi(張栻) and earned the jinshi (進士) degree in 1169.
