Qing Gaozong(1711~1799) was the 6th emperor of the Qing Dynasty, the Emperor Qianlong. He was the 4th son of Emperor Yongzheng and officially reigned from 1735 to 1796. He abdicated the throne in favor of his beloved son, the Emperor Jiaqing in order not to reign longer than his grandfather, Emperor Kangxi. But even after his retirement, he retained ultimate power until his death in 1799.
