  • 01.The Glossary of Mongolian, Jurchen, and Manchu Personal Names is a result of a research project of collecting relevant terms and information from the Veritable Records of Joseon Dynasty conducted by the National Institute of Korean History. The research aimed to prepare and utilize the glossary as a basic reference for the English translation project of the Veritable Records of King Sejong.
  • 02.Names of the participants in the research project and their affiliation at the time of the project are as follows.
    • -Kim Juwon (Dep. Linguistics, Seoul National University), Yurn Gyudong (Yonsei University Institute of Humanities),
      Kang Eunji (Institute of Latin American Studies, Seoul National University), and Lee Hun (Korea University)
  • 03.The Romanization of personal names is based on the original pronunciation of the name. If it is difficult to determine the original pronunciation only with the Chinese characters of the name, it was estimated as close to the original pronunciation as possible.
  • 04.The Glossary of Mongolian, Jurchen, and Manchu Personal Names is a basic reference for the English translation project of the Veritable Records of King Sejong. It does not mean an official interpretation of the Veritable Records of King Sejong by the National Institute of Korean History. In addition, it is not complete because it only presents the most relevant information gathered from the translation process so far. If more accurate information is collected from the subsequent translation process, the glossary will be revised after internal and external review.

Darongga 多弄介 다롱개 1. a vice director(副司正) of Orangkai(兀良哈) who lived in 時建. The brother of Sosiu, Hacingga, Darhua, Ardoga. The uncle of Pardo, Parda. 2. a Jurchen(女眞) who lived in 吾弄草. 3. An Orangkai(兀良哈) who lived in outside of 訓戎江. 4. An Odoli(斡朶里)
Darongga 多龍介 다룡개 A Ya-in(野人) who presented local products to the king. (1412)
Darongga 多弄可 다롱가 A commander(指揮) of Odoli(斡朶里) who lived in Omhoi. The son of Magimparo. The nephew of Magumpa. The brother of Macenri, Arda (1455)
Darongga 多籠介 다롱개 The second son of Sarongga who called himself Mangga, the son of Garongga, in order to hide his own name. A Baihu served in Hulun tribe.
Darongga 多弄哥 다롱가 A soldier. The younger brother of Siarongga.
Darongga 多弄哈 다롱합 1. Early 15C, a 指揮 of Udige who presented local products 2. →Bak Darongga 3. Early 15C, a 指揮 of 愁濱江 Ya-in(野人) who presented local products 4. →Bak Darongga
Dasa 多舍 다사 An Orangkai(兀良哈) who lived in outside of 訓戎江
Dasa 大舍 대사 1. a director(司正) of Orangkai(兀良哈) who lived in 下訓春. (1455) 2. a military protector(護軍) of Ya-in(野人) who lived in Achiranggwi. He was naturalized (1461) 3. Darhan hiya.(1621)
Dasa 大斜 대사 A commander(指揮) of Odoli and later appointed to a brigade vice commander(副萬戶)(1455)
