Zhang Jiuling(張九齡, 673–740) was a prominent official, noted poet and scholar of the Tang Dynasty. He served as chancellor during the reign of Emperor Xuanzong(玄宗). Because he was born in Qujiang(曲江), Shao Prefecture(韶州), he was given the nickname 'Zhang Qujiang(張曲江)'. He was appointed to government posts on the recommendation of Chancellor Zhang Yue(張說).
