Xue Fan 薛藩 설번
(쉐판)
A native of Longjiang 龍江, Shunde 順德, jinshi of 1589 . In 1592 when Japan invaded Korea, he, as imperial messenger (行人), was dispatched to Joseon with the imperial rescript of the Ming emperor. He also delivered a warning to the Japanese headquater. Later he became prefect 知府 of Yanping 延平 Prefecture. 번(藩)

Xue Kui 薛奎 설규
(쉐쿠이)
Xue Kui(薛奎, 967~1034) was an official of the Song Dynasty. His fourth daughter married Ouyang Xiu(歐陽脩). He was known as a man of integrity. When Empress Dowager Zhangxian(章獻太后), who ruled the country as regent, attempted to visit the imperial ancestral shrine wearing the emperor's court dress, he opposed the plan. 설규(薛奎), 숙예(宿藝)
Xue Rengui 薛仁貴 설인귀
(쉐런구이)
Xue Rengui(薛仁貴, 614–683) was a general during the early Tang. He participated in successful campaigns against Western Tujue(西突厥) and against Goguryeo(高句麗). After the downfall of Goguryeo in 668, Emperor Gaozong(高宗) appointed him Protector General of Andong (安東都護府總督). However, he was defeated in campaigns against Tufan(吐藩) and Silla(新羅) in the 670's. 설인귀(薛仁貴), 설례(薛禮)

A supervising secretary (給事中) of the Office of Scrutiny for Works (工科) during the Jiajing era (1522-1566) of the Ming who was dispatched as deputy envoy (副使) in 1539.
Xue Wanche 薛萬徹 설만철
(쉐완처)
Xue Wanche(薛萬徹, ?-653), a native of Capital commandery(京兆), was a general of the Sui and the Tang Dynasties. He originally served Li Jiancheng(李建成), the crown prince of Emperor Gaozu of Tang. After Li Shimin killed Jiancheng, Li Shimin pardoned him. In the reign of Emperor Gaozong(高宗), however, he was accused of treason and executed. 설만철(薛萬徹)
