Wang Chengzong(王承宗, ?-820) succeeded to his father’s seat as the military governor of Chengde Circuit(成德節度使), defeating an imperial army that tried to intervene in the succession. Later he colluded with Wu Yuanji(吳元濟) and Li Shidao(李師道) who revolted against Tang. When Wu and Li were destroyed by Tang, realizing his unfavorable condition, he begged pardon by ceding part of his land.
