(1366-1402). A loyal minister of Emperor Jianwen 建文. When Zhu Di 朱棣, the future Emperor Yongle 永樂 , rose in rebellion against Jianwen, Tie blocked Zhu Di's southern invasion at Qinan 濟南. He defeated Zhu Di's army repeatedly, but Zhu Di finally took Nanjing 南京 and became the emperor. Zhu Di captured him and dismembered his body. A native of Mianyang (沔陽), Huguang (湖廣). A bureaucrat and scholar during the Ming Dynasty. He served concurrently as Mentor of the Left (左庶子) and Expositor-in-Waiting (侍講) of the Directorate of Education (國子監) after he won the imperial civil service examination in 1521. His writings include the Neifang ji (內方集) and the Ping Han lu (平漢錄). | |
