Tong Guan(童貫, 1054~1126) was a eunuch of the Song Dynasty. As Army Supervisor(監軍) of the north-western region, he made a contribution to restore Sichuan(四川) in the war against Xixia(西夏). Toqto’a (脫脫, 1314~1356) was an official, historian,and high-ranking minister of the Yuan Dynasty. He was born to a Merkit aristocratic family in 1314. He became Grand Councillor during the reign of Toghan Temur (r.1333-1370), the last Yuan emperor. In 1343 he led a team of officials to quickly compile histories of the Liao, Jin and Song Dynasties.
