Ma Duanlin(馬端臨, 1245~1322) was a historian and encyclopedist of the Yuan Dynasty. He was a son of Ma Tingluan(馬廷鸞), Grand Councilor of the Southern Song. In 1273 he started the compilation of the Wenxian Tongkao(文獻通考) using his father's collection and advice, and in 1317 he completed the Wenxian Tongkao in 348 volumes.
