Ma Zhi(馬植, ?~1126) who came from a great family in the Sixteen Prefectures of Yan and Yun(燕雲十六州) was an official of the Liao Dynasty(遼). When Tong Guan(童貫) was sent to the Liao as a commissioner in 1111, he met Tong Guan personally and proposed a plan for restoring the Sixteen Prefectures of Yan and Yun. Renaming himself Li Liangsi(李良嗣), he entered Song and proposed that the Song court play Liao against Jin(金). After the Jin eventually destroyed Liao, he proposed a peace treaty with Jin.
