Emperor Huizong(徽宗, 1082 ~ 1135, r. 1100-1125) was the 8th emperor of the Song Dynasty. His name is Zhao Ji(趙佶). He was the son of Emperor Shenzong(神宗) and succeeded his brother Emperor Zhezong(哲宗). His reign witnessed cultural prosperity. He attempted to restore the Sixteen Prefectures of Yan and Yun(燕雲十六州), but his military policy brought about the invasion of the Jin(金), and he abdicated the throne in favor of his son Emperor Qinzong(欽宗).
