Ding Chenyuan 丁陳元 정진원
(딩천위안)
A Ming officer. He was captured by the Japanese probably during the Imjin War (aka Hideyoshi's Invasion). In 1600 the Japanese sent him along with other Chinese and Korean captives back home by ship. The ship was captured by Ming forces in Busan 釜山 waters. 정진원(丁陳元)

A general under Xiang Yu 項羽. He once let Liu Bang 劉邦 escape a battlefield. After the defeat of Xiang Yu, Gaodi 高帝 (Liu Bang) excuted him for his disloyalty to Xiang Yu. 정공(Ding Gong 丁公), 정자(Dingzi 丁子)
Ding Kuichu 丁魁楚 정괴초
(딩쿠이추)
He was made Vice Minister 侍郞 of the Ministry of War 兵部 and supervised military affairs of the Beijing area during the Chongzheng 崇禎 reign. When he was defeated by Jurchens, he was punished. After the downfall of Ming, he worked for Prince Pu 福王, Prince Tang 唐王, and Prince Gui 桂王 sucessively. In 1662, he, along with Prince Gui, surrendered to the Qing and was executed. 정괴초(丁魁楚)

A runaway Ming soldier who came to Joseon. The Joseon court sent him back to Liaodong 遼東 in 1407. 록길(祿吉)
Ding Ruchang 丁汝昌 정여창
(딩루창)
Ding Ruchang(丁汝昌, 1836~1895) was a career military officer in the late Qing Dynasty. He was a supporter of the Self-Strengthening Movement in China, and urged Li Hongzhang(李鴻章) to create shipyards in China in order to build modern armored cruisers. After the Beiyang Fleet(北洋艦隊) was destroyed during the First Sino-Japanese War, he committed suicide. 정(丁), 정군문(丁軍門), 정여창(丁汝昌), 정제독(丁提督), 정제독여창(丁提督汝昌)
Ding Wei 丁謂 정위
(딩웨이)
Ding Wei(丁謂 , 966-1037) was an official of the Song Dynasty who earned the jinshi(進士) degree in 992. He was notorious for his cunning behavior. He enticed Emperor Zhenzong(眞宗) to construct new palaces and perform the Feng and Shan sacrifices at Mount Tai(泰山). He was demoted and banished in the reign of Emperor Renzong(仁宗). 정위(丁謂), 공언(公言)
Ding Yingtai 丁應泰 정응태
(딩잉타이)
A secretary 主事of the Ministry of War 兵部 during the Ming dynasty. In 1598, he wrongly accused Joseon of colluding with Japan in order to invade China. The Joseon court sent a memorial to the Ming emperor for self-justification. With the memorial, Ding was dismissed. 응태(應泰), 정(丁), 정응태(丁應泰), 정주사(丁主事), 주사(主事), 찬화(贊畫)
