(1525-1596). A native of Jingyang 涇陽, jinshi of 1553. He served as Secretary 主事 of the Ministry of Revenue 戶部 and then as Right Vice Minister 右侍郞 of the Ministry of Personnel 吏部. As he enraged Zhang Juzheng 張居正, the powerful premier, he was dismissed. However, after Zhang died, he was appointed as Right Vice Minister 侍郞 of the Ministry of Revenue in Nanjing 南京. Later, he retired as the Minister 尙書 of the ministry. When the rebellion of Bobai 哱拜 broke out, he commanded the government army, but after repeatedly failing to suppress the rebellion, he was persecuted and lost his official titles.
