Empress Taimu(太穆皇后, 6c-7c), whose family name was Du, was a daughter of Du Yi(竇毅) and Elder Princess Xiangyang(襄陽長公主) of the Norther Zhou(北周). She was also granddaughter of Yuwen Tai(宇文泰). She was born in Shiping district(始平縣), Capital commandery(京兆郡) and married Li Yuan(李淵) who later became Emperor Gaozu(高祖) of the Tang Dynasty. She had four sons and one daughter: Li Jiancheng(李建成), Li Shimin(李世民), Li Xuanba(李玄霸), Li Yuanji(李元吉) and Princess Pingyang(平陽公主). She passed away before Li Yan ascended the throne, but was posthumously titled Empress Taimu. | 태목(太穆) |

Princess Taiping was the youngest daughter of Wu Zetian and Emperor Gaozong. She was powerful during the reigns of her mother and her elder brothers: Emperor Zhongzong and Emperor Ruizong, particularly during Emperor Ruizong's second reign. However a rivalry developed between her and her nephew, Emperor Ruizong's crown prince Li Longji. Right after Li Longji succeeded to the throne in 712, Princess Taiping planned to overthrow Emperor Xuanzong; however, he executed a large number of her allies and forced her to commit suicide. | 태평공주(太平公主) |
