심유경 (선유징) |
(d. 1597). A native of Jiaxing 嘉興, Zhejiang 浙. He was originally an idle man. After Pyeongyang 平壤 was taken by the Japanese, Shi Xing 石星, Minister 尙書 of the Ministry of War 兵部, sent him as a peace negotiator to Konishi Yukinaga 小西行長 in order to gain some time to prepare an expeditionary army. He met Toyotomi Hideyoshi 豊臣秀吉 in 1593. In return for a peace treaty, Hideyoshi presented outrageous conditions including the cession of four provinces of Joseon. Shen hid Hideyoshi's conditions, and just reported that Hideyoshi had agreed to conclude the peace treaty if he would be enfeoffed as the King of Japan. Sheng Cizhog(盛次仲) was an official of the Song Dynasty. He came from Kaifeng Superior Prefecture(開封) and earned the academic degree of Jinshi(進士) in 1061.
