An official of the Former Zhao 前趙 during the Sixteen Kingdoms period. His daughter became one of Liu Cong(劉聰)'s consorts. When Chen Yuanda 陳元達 dared to admonish Liu Cong, the emperor of the state, about his extravagance, Ren Yi and other officials persuaded the emperor not to execute Chen Yuanda.
