Wu Yuanheng(武元衡, 758-815) was an official of the Tang Dynasty, serving as a chancellor during the reign of Emperor Xianzong(憲宗). Wu Yuanji(吳元濟, 783-817) was head of a treacherous colony(叛藩) in the reign of Emperor Xianzong(憲宗) of Tang. When his father Wu Shaoyang(吳少陽), Jieduzhi of Huaixi(淮西節度使), died, Wu Yuanji wanted to succeed this father, but the Imperial government refused to follow his wish.
