(1369~1415). A native of Ji'an 吉安, Jiangxi 江西. The first ranking grand secretary 內閣首輔 of Ming. The Emperor Hongwu 洪武 loved his talent and Emperor Jianwen 建文 made him editorial assistant 待詔 of the Hanlin Academy 翰林院. After Emperor Yongle 永樂 usurped the throne, Jie was promoted to the first ranking grand secretary. He compiled the Veritable Records 實錄 of Emperor Taizu 明太祖 and the Encyclopedia of Yongle 永樂大典 among other books. Later he was involved in succession struggles and was eventually executed. | 해진(解縉) |
