(r. 1020-996 or 1005-978 BCE). King Kang of Zhou. The third ruler of the Zhou dynasty. His reign is considered to have been a peaceful and prosperous period. 강(Kang 康), 강왕(Kang Wang 康王)
Zhou Kui 周葵 주규
(줘쿠이)
Zhou Kui(周葵, 1098~1174) was an official of the Southern Song Dynasty. He came from Chang Prefecture(常州) and earned the jinshi degree in 1125. In the reign of Emperor Xiaozong(孝宗) he became Vice Counselor(參知政事), but he resigned due to his opposition to the northern expedition to recover North China. 규(葵), 입의(立義)
Zhou Li Wang 周厲王 주려왕
(저우리왕)
(d. 828 BCE; r. 877-841 or 857-842 BCE). King Li of Zhou. The tenth king of the Zhou dynasty who died in exile due to a revolt by the people of the state 國人. During his exile, Gongbo He 共伯和 (or according to other sources, Duke Ding of Zhou [周定公] and Duke Mu of Zhao [召穆公 ]) is said to have ruled as regent. 려(Li 厲), 려왕(Li Wang 厲王), 주려(Zhou Li 周厲)
Zhou Lie Wang 周烈王 주렬왕
(저우례왕)
(r. 375-369 BCE). King Lie of Zhou. The thirty-third king of the Zhou dynasty during the Warring States period. During his reign, Duke Xian of Qin 秦獻公 moved the capital to Liyang 櫟陽. 렬왕(Lie Wang 烈王), 주이렬왕(Zhou Yilie Wang 周夷烈王)
Zhou Mu 周木 주목
(저우무)
A native of Changshu 常熟 and jinshi of 1475. He served as Vice-Director of the Messenger Office 行人司司副 in Nanjing 南京, and then Director 郞中 of the Ministry of Personnel 吏部. Later he worked as administration vice commissioner 參政 in Zhejiang 浙江. 주목(周木)
Zhou Mu Wang 周穆王 주목왕
(저우무왕)
(r. 976-922 or 956-918 BCE). King Mu of Zhou. The fifth king of the Zhou dyansty during the Western Zhou period. During his reign, the Zhou made an unsuccessful expedition against the Quanrong 犬戎 tribes and was invaded by the state of Xu 徐. He is reputed to have liked travel. 목왕(Mu Wang 穆王)
Zhou Nan Wang 周赧王 주난왕
(저우난왕)
(r. 314-256 BCE). King Nan of Zhou. The last king of the Zhou dynasty. After he died in 256 BCE, the state of Qin 秦 took the Nine Tripods 九鼎, the symbol of the Mandate of Heaven 天命, and occupied Zhou territory. 난왕(Nan Wang 赧王), 주난(Zhou Nan 周赧), 주은왕(Zhou Yin Wang 周隱王)
Zhou Ping Wang 周平王 주평왕
(저우핑왕)
(r. 770-720 BCE). King Ping of Zhou. The thirteenth king of the Zhou dynasty who moved the capital from devastated Haojing 鎬京 to the eastern capital of Luoyi 洛邑. He was a son of King You 幽王, the last king of the so-called Western Zhou dynasty. 평왕(Ping Wang 平王)
Zhou Shizong 周世宗 주세종
(저우스쭝)
(r. 954-959 CE). The second emperor of the Later Zhou (Hou Zhou 後周) dynasty during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms (wu dai shi guo 五代十國) period. 세종(Shizong 世宗)
Zhou Tai Wang 周太王 주태왕
(저우타이왕)
King Tai of Zhou. See Gugong Danfu 古公亶父.
