Yang Guozhong(楊國忠, ?-756) was a second cousin of Yang Yuhuan(楊玉環), Emperor Xuanzong(玄宗)'s favorite concubine. He enjoyed the confidence of Emperor Xuanzong. In 752, Xuanzong appointed him chancellor succeeding Li Linfu(李林甫) due to his skills in managing finances. His conflict with An Lushan(安祿山) eventually triggered the An Lushan Rebellion.
