Yan Zhao Wang 燕昭王 연소왕
(옌자오왕)
(d. 279 BCE). King Zhao of Yan. A king of Yan 燕 during the Warring States period. During his reign, Yan 燕 became one of the mighty powers as Qin Kai 秦開 and Yue Yi 樂毅 greatly defeated the Donghu 東胡 people and the powerful state of Qi 齊, respectively. 연소양왕(Yan Zhao Xiang Wang 燕昭襄王), 소왕(Zhao Wang 昭王), 양왕(Xiang Wang 襄王), 연(Yan 燕), 연소(Yan Zhao 燕昭)
Yan Zhenqing 顔眞卿 안진경
(옌전칭)
Yan Zhenqing(顔眞卿, 709-785) was an official and prominent calligrapher of the Tang Dynasty(唐朝). His upright character brought him into conflict with powerful officials who had him demoted. In his later years, on the order of Emperor Dezong(德宗), he went to a rebel leader, the military governor of Huaixi Circuit(淮西節度使) Li Xilie(李希烈), to persuade him to surrender. He failed in his mission and was imprisoned and killed. 안진경(顔眞卿), 진경(眞卿), 청신(清臣)
Yan Zhenqing 彦眞卿 언진경
(옌전칭)
Yan Zhenqing(顔眞卿, 709-785) was an official and prominent calligrapher of the Tang Dynasty(唐朝). His upright character always brought him into conflict with powerful officials who had him demoted. A native of the state of Lu 魯 during the Spring and Autumn period. A disciple of Confucius. 완구후(Wangou Hou 宛勾侯)
Yan Zhitui 顔之推 안지추
(옌즈투이)
(531-591?). A scholar, calligrapher, musician, painter and official during the late Northern and Southern Dynasties period. He served four different Chinese states: the Liang 梁 in southern China, the Northern Qi 北齊 and the Northern Zhou 北周 of northern China, and their successor state that reunified China, the Sui 隋 dynasty. In his famous book, The Family Instructions of Master Yan 顔氏家訓, Yan Zhitui left an entire written compendium of his own philosophy and life-advice to his sons. Yan Shigu 顔師古, the famous historian in the early Tang period, was his grandson and Yan Zhenqing 顔眞卿, famous as a calligrapher, was his great-great-great grandson.
Yan Zhu 嚴助 엄조
(옌주)
A famous rhapsody 賦 writer during the reign of Emperor Wu of Han 漢武帝. Implicated in king of Huainan 淮南王 Liu An's 劉安 rebellion, he was executed.
